We wish to welcome the new residents who have joined our community, since Keith and I moved here from the Gold Coast. We have been enjoying ourselves very much, as we always seem to be on the go with something to do all the time.

We have aerobics Monday and Friday, gardening Monday and Thursday in our garden centre, beauty therapy Saturdays and Mondays, line dancing Mondays, needle work Tuesdays, tai chi Wednesdays, art on Thursdays.

There is also a games night where Euchre seems to be the game of choice, there's also a movie night to fit in as well. On Sunday we rest, to get ready for the next week.

Since Keith and I moved here from the Gold Coast. We have been enjoying ourselves very much.We went on a bus trip to Stanthorpe, where we visited two lavender farms, had a visit to the Bramble Patch, where I’m glad to say it started raining and then rained throughout the night and the next day, which we badly needed. There has also been a dinner night, where we took along a favourite beef dish. We also welcomed back Don & Rae from their holiday from South Australia.

When I finally made the big decision to leave my home and shift into Regency Park I wondered how I would like it and adjust to my different circumstances. I must say that it has been an excellent decision at my time of life and the staff here have been very caring and helpful.

With the interests that I had before I shifted here and the extra activities organised by the staff here I find that I have to sometimes decide which ones I want to participate in. No one is compelled to do anything and you are able to just decide what you would like to try. Do nothing if you so desire. The Community Centre is available for residents to relax in, to read the papers, watch TV or just sit.

One of the residents offered to hold Art Classes and some of us took up the offer. I must say that with a lot of help from Rae we are very happy with our projects and enjoy it very much. We can only improve. Bus trips are organised, It is a wonderful way to get around and see different things, without the hassle.

The Villa’s themselves are quite lovely ....big enough to live in and have family come and stay, but not so large that they are a chore to clean and maintain. Our Activities Co-Coordinator has things organised; movie nights, cards, a happy hour and sometimes a meal to share, all of which are happy occasions. Here again it is your choice whether you attend or not.

Each Villa has a large outdoor area, automatic garage doors, two bathrooms and an open living area. They are really the perfect size,. The landscape gardens are lovely to see and with our own water supply everything is green and thriving.

The experience of leaving a community of which we have been involved with for almost forty years, and loved, moving to a new location, home etc can be a difficult time. So when we made the decision to move to Warwick and Regency Park we did so with the concern as to how we would handle this new lifestyle.

So when, soon after Easter we moved into the village it was with this in our minds, but we were pleasantly surprised by the friendly welcome and response from the staff and residents at the village.

We found the range of activities available to residents, gardening, needlework, painting, line dancing, tai chi and many others ... quite extensive to fit the interests of all who wished to participate"

We found too, that the village was not “cut off” from the wider Warwick community, which showed itself soon after we arrived for the remembrance service and breakfast to honour those who served their country on Anzac Day. This was a truly memorable time shared by residents, staff, and the wider community. A special mention must be given for the cooks who provided the food for a very hearty breakfast. To cater for different tastes the ladies were treated to “Skirts Night”, where they shared food and laughter, not to be out done the men had their “Studs Night”, a time for men of the village, staff and friends from Warwick to join together for a wonderful dinner and fellowship.

The village also did its part, and we all enjoyed the experience with the “Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea”, for the Cancer Council. We joined together with friends for a marvelous time and in the process raised over $200 for cancer research. The longer we stay here the more we are finding out how fortunate we are to have made the move, and share in the life of the community here.
